Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!

How has time passed by so quickly? So happy that I get a day off from work today. Just going to relax, do a little more packing and mentally prepare myself for another new year.

With this coming to an end, I'd like to say that my first advent calendar experience was so much fun. This might be an annual ritual for me from now on. Although they're quite expensive, but it's nice to try out new products in such a way that helps get you pumped up for the holidays.

So let's get right to it.

Day 22: Power Dressing

Day 23: Mistress

*Drum Roll*

Tada!

Day 24: Celestial

And this concludes my advent calendar... I wish you all a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! :)

Angela

In the spirit of the holidays, I decided to buy an advent calendar this year. I was going to buy the Benefit Cosmetics one from Sephora's website, but the items didn't really seem to appeal to me. I ended up seeing the Ciaté Mini Mani Manor Advent Calendar on the website. It drew me in instantly because of the super cute packaging and my growing addiction for nail polishes.

So I bought it! :) It's currently on sale on the website if you still want to purchase it.

Here's what it looks like:

So pretty! I can't get over the design. I love that you can open it like 2 doors. I've become so addicted to it. I think I'll be trying out an advent calendar every year.

Day 1: Kiss Chase

Day 2: Cha Cha Cha

Day 3: Meet Me in Mayfair

Day 4: Girl with a Pearl

Day 5: Espadrilles

Day 6: Ivory Queen

Day 7: Loop the Loop

The colors are so pretty! I've used Espadrilles so far and it took me 2 coats for an opaque color, which is normal. The drying time is also quite fast compared to my other polishes, which is nice. I think this was a good splurge. :) Haha.

Anyways, this means there's only 18 days until Christmas! I'll see you next week for Days 8 - 14!

Thanks for reading,
Angela

ETUDE HOUSE - CC Cream Glow

Today's post, after like 2 months of disappearing, will be a review on Etude House's CC Cream! I recently came back from Korea & Hong Kong and picked up a bunch of beauty items that I'd love to do reviews for in the future. I received this one as a gift about a year ago though from a friend who lives in Hong Kong. I stashed it away and found it recently so I decided to give it a try.

After trying the Innisfree compact that I reviewed here, I started gravitating towards Asian branded products more than what I would normally use here in the US.

So let's start!

The bottle comes in a tube with a pump, which I absolutely love because it helps keep the tube looking clean and can help control the amount of product that comes out of it. I have a dislike for products that come in a squeeze tube or a bottle that requires endless shaking to get out the product.

I think the packaging is adorable, as with all Etude House products. Packaging means a lot to me when I'm deciding between two products so big thumbs up to Etude House for continuously producing adorable items!

The CC cream itself is white in color, like all other CC creams on the market. The consistency is a bit on the thicker end, which can be nice, but I personally prefer foundations with a more runny consistency because its easier to work with and to build up coverage if needed.

Thicker foundations takes more effort for me to blend out. For this foundation, I'd recommend using a beauty blender/ sponge to help you blend out the foundation evenly.

That's what it looks like when it's blended out. It still looks a bit white, but after 15 mins or so, it will change to match your skin tone. It also has pretty good coverage. If you look in the 3rd picture, you can see some redness in my hand. The picture above shows it to be pretty well covered after application.

The Etude House CC Cream in Glow retails for $12 on Amazon. For the size & quality of this product, it's definitely a good price.

Recently, I went a little overboard and did some major wallet damage at LOFT. I saw this one skirt on Jean from ExtraPetite and fell in love with it so I just had to have it. I first went on their website on my phone while in bed and thought "I'll order it when I get to work tomorrow morning!" as they were having a 50% off sale. But once I got to work, the sale was gone! I was super upset about it, but then I saw that there was some pretty good deals in the sale section so I decided to take a look...

And that's how I ended up with a bunch of things in my cart. The items shown below are all from the first order. I then went back to the website 2 days later, hoping the skirt would be on sale again, but once again, I got sucked into finding more things in my size that weren't available before and ended up buying more stuff. I tried again for the 3rd time when I received an email saying that everything was 50% off. I quickly navigated through the website and found the skirt. It was 50% off so I just had to have it!

Anyone that knows me will tell you that I never want to pay for shipping if I don't have to. haha. So being good ol' me, I went ahead and purchased another $125+ to meet the free shipping requirement. This time, I purchased things I'd be more prone to returning if I didn't like them. I do live near a LOFT so I could just go and return the items if I didn't want them after work. :) I will have another post up for those items!

Now onto the goodies!

Petite Curvy Fit Cotton Lace Skirt in 00P (here)

This skirt fit me perfectly around the waist. Normally, my LOFT skirts are a little loose at the waist and I do need to add a belt to keep it up at the height I like it to sit at. This one was on the smaller end though. Maybe it's because it's their curvy size. The picture above also shows that it's a little on the sheer side but that's not too much of a problem as I do wear short shorts under all my skirts.

Petite Floral Lace Sweatshirt in XXSP (here)
This sweater was kind of eh for me at first, but it grew on me after looking at it some more. It's a bit on the boxy side and makes my shoulders look wider than they really are. The material is super comfortable though. I can see myself wearing this with a pair of white or blue jeans on a lazy day!

Here's an upclose at the shoulder detail. It looks so pretty with the subtle flower cutouts. It also allows for some air to easily flow through the sweater on a warmer day.

Petite Floral Burnout Tank in XXSP (here)
This tank top is a bit on a sheer end as well. I expected it to be a bit more opaque, but it's okay. If I add a white cami underneath, it will be work appropriate to wear with a skirt. The material is very comfortable as well.

Petite Striped Sheer Open Cardigan in XXSP (here)
I love this cardigan! If it was completely opaque and thicker, it would be even better. Even though the stripes are horizontal, I think the cardigan makes me look even thinner for some reason. The sleeves are also perfect on me, which is rare.

The sheerness is the most obvious from the back at the shoulders.

Dylan Slingback Pointy Toe Mid Heels in Size 6 (here)

Dylan Slingback Pointy Toe Mid Heels in Size 6 (here)
These are the first pair of pointed heels I've ever purchased. They do get a little comfortable for me after wearing them for a few hours, but since I work in an office, I'm mostly sitting and I do change into flats when I'm at my desk. I bought these because they were slingback shoes so I knew it wouldn't hurt the back of my feet. I didn't want to have to worry about getting blisters on both the front toes and the back of my feet at the same time.

These are about 3.5 inches tall so it does add a bit of height to my shortness. I usually wear kitten heels to work because they're easier to walk in and hurt less. These are okay for me to walk in, but I do feel a bit unsteady when I'm walking fast. (I'm not very good at wearing heels though.)

Fluid Stretch Twill Bell Skirt in 00 (here)

I actually had high hopes for this one, just because of the belt loops. Sadly, it's one of the loosest ones that I purchased. It's very comfortable though so I am going to be saving this for when I finally buy a sewing machine to tailor my own skirts!

The zipper is on the side though, so I will have to alter it from the back. Not such a big deal, but it will be double the work since I'll have to cinch it in twice to ensure that the belt loops are still even on the front.

Petite Curvy Fit LOFT Bi-Stretch Seamed Pencil Skirt in 00P (here in Tall)
I was hesitant to buy this because of the color. It's so vibrant! I'm used to wearing more blacks and pastels to work. This was another skirt that I got in the curvy cut. Again it fits me perfectly at the waist. It's a little loose in a butt area, but I'd say this is better than the normal petites. Perhaps I should order their curvy sizes from now on.

This is definitely another skirt that needs to be altered. haha With this one added to my pencil skirts collection, I think this would be the longest one I own. I'm very skeptical about longer skirts because it makes me look even shorter. However, after trying this on with a pair of heels, it looked pretty nice! I think the black color helps with the slimming effect so it doesn't swallow my height.

Petite Collarless Chambray Softened Shirt in XXSP (here)
I cannot express how much I love this shirt. I have this in the white color already and it's super comfortable. It's perfect for those semi windy summer days when it's hot, but you want to stay warmer when you're sitting in an office with AC blasting.

As unattractive as this sounds, I do sweat a bit when it's really hot outside, especially in the underarm area. This color does make it very obvious, which is unfortunate, but the thin material allows it to dry up fast. LOL. Is that TMI?

Petite LOFT Bi-Stretch Clean Ankle Pants in Marisa Fit in 00P (Similar)
Onto the last item in this post: These super perfect pants. This is the 3rd pair of work pants I've ever bought. Simply because I find myself looking strange in pants... Girly outfits give me a higher confidence boost in the work place so 99% of the time, you'll see me wearing a skirt (even in the winter time when there's like 10 inches of snow)

I decided to give these a shot because they were only $11! The price was hard to beat. It was final sale though so it was a bit risky to buy online. But the price was hard to pass up so I went for it and I'm so glad I did. These fit perfectly, no alterations needed! These are also cut off at the ankles so it gives a more lengthening appearance.

Unfortunately I'm a terrible walker in general and whenever it rains, I always end up splashing water around the lower half of my leg which prevents me from wearing pants when it's raining outside. No comfy bum days at work for me.

That's all I have for today. I'll have Part 2 up once I receive the rest of my packages! :) That one will definitely be longer than this. haha.
